I did a MG 42 previously, but it was a premature attempt. I decided to upgrade it to challenge the best 3D MG 42 on . I call it "MG 42 2.0", it represent a whole new skill-set of my latest experience. The project itself is lavishly expanded far beyond a common prop work. Because, I wish to present you an "Gesamtkunstwerk". One that not only a central prop piece but also a composition, a story, a attractive scene. So my solution to it is a decorated showroom with symbolic support elements and comprehensive color pattern. The MG 42 and its ammo and ammo box are highly accurate and detailed. In fact the entire scene is sub-diviedable. I employed Marvelous Designer to simulate most the fabric and drapery then use Zbrush to adjust the minor flows. I modeled the scene using Maya and Zbrush. The rendering tool that I used are 3ds Max V-Ray and Marmoset Toolbag. Now without further delay, please enjoy this total work of art.
